Description
SLU-PP-332 is a small molecule, not a peptide, developed by researchers at Saint Louis University and Scripps. It activates estrogen-related receptors, which help control how cells produce energy, and in mice it triggered changes resembling those produced by endurance exercise, including improved running capacity and altered fat metabolism. That result generated the exercise in a pill headline that follows it everywhere. Every element of that headline comes from mice. No human has received it in a registered trial. Meanwhile the intervention it claims to replace, actual aerobic and resistance exercise, has one of the largest and most consistent evidence bases in all of medicine.
