Description
These are chemically modified versions of the Russian peptides Semax and Selank, altered by adding an acetyl group at one end and an amide at the other, changes intended to slow breakdown and improve absorption. The modifications may well do that. The problem is what they do to the evidence. Whatever clinical claims exist for Semax and Selank derive from Russian studies of those specific molecules, and these are not those molecules. A modification that changes how a compound survives in the body is not a trivial adjustment for the purposes of borrowing a safety and efficacy record. No trials of the modified versions exist, so they have no evidence base of their own at all.
