Description
Humanin is another peptide encoded inside mitochondrial DNA, discovered in research on brain tissue and studied for apparent protective effects on cells under stress. Like MOTS-c, the human research measures naturally occurring levels rather than testing administration, and studies have looked at how those levels relate to ageing and disease. Those are association studies, and they cannot tell you what happens if you introduce more of the peptide from outside. No interventional trial has been completed. It is a legitimate and active area of mitochondrial biology research that has not reached the stage of testing in people, and it is sold as though it had.
