Description

Hexarelin belongs to the growth hormone releasing peptide family, working through the ghrelin receptor to prompt growth hormone release. It attracted some research interest because of possible direct effects on heart tissue, separate from the growth hormone pathway, which distinguished it from its relatives. That line of investigation never produced an approved medicine and no substantial modern development programme survives. Like the other compounds in this group it does what it says on the hormone panel and has never been shown to deliver the physical outcomes people pursue it for. Its evidence base is a scattering of small early studies from decades ago, and it is now essentially a research chemical with a footnote in cardiology literature.

What Are The Claims

Claims made for this compound: Strongest acute GH release of the classic secretagogues; Preclinical cardioprotective signaling; Proposed short-term recovery and body-composition effects

Evidence

Small human pharmacokinetic and GH-release studies exist. Notably, tolerance to its GH effect develops quickly, which undercuts the sustained-use case it is sold on.

Evidence Strength

Preliminary (small human GH/PK)

Caveats

Not approved; rapid desensitization with repeated dosing; no outcome data.
